Emerald Corgis

Dedicated Breeder

Main Logo

Greetings, Corgi Enthusiasts! I am Laura Shaver, a passionate hobby breeder of AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgis, nestled in the picturesque region of Northern California.  My journey with these incredible dogs began in 1997, and since 2011, I have been dedicated to breeding and raising corgi puppies with upmost care and attention. At my home, I welcome two to three litters each year, ensuring every puppy is raised in a loving and nurturing environment. My esteemed corgi family includes Teddy, Elle, Buttercup, and Zuko, all of whom are integral to our home. I am unwaveringly committed to raising well-adjusted and healthy puppies. Our breeding program ensures none of our puppies will be at risk for developing degenerative myelopathy, as Elle, Buttercup, Zuko, and Teddy are DM, EIC, Vwd1, and PRA clear. Teddy boasts OFA Excellent hips and normal eye certification, while Elle's hips are rated Penn Hip Good with normal eye certifications. Zuko also has normal eye certifications and OFA Good hips. Looking ahead to Fall 2024, we are excited to pair Buttercup, whose eye certifications are normal and hips rated OFA Good, with Zuko. This pairing promises an exceptional litter featuring beautiful red and sable puppies. Breeding these wonderful dogs is a true labor of love. I am committed to producing healthy, happy, and well-socialized puppies that embody the spirit and quality of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi breed. Join us on this incredible journey, and welcome an Emerald Corgi into your family!

Purchasing A Puppy

I am pleased to offer my precious corgi puppies for $2500-$3000. These delightful companions come with limited AKC registration, as my goal is for them to become cherished pets rather than breeding dogs. It is required that they be spayed or neutered at 18 months of age to ensure their well-being and the integrity of the breed. Each puppy is accompanied by a one-year health guarantee from the date of birth, covering any life threatening congenital defects. They receive proper veterinary care, including deworming, first vaccinations, and a thorough health check. Additionally, their tails will be docked, and dew claws removed to adhere to breed standards. If your are wanting your corgi to keep his/her tail this can be arranged ahead of time. Otherwise we do dock our puppies tails if not requested by the allotted time.  When a puppy becomes available, I accept a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure your new family member. The remaining balance is due in cash upon pick-up. As a proud member of Good Dog, I offer secure payment options through my Good Dog account. While there are fees for these services, they provide buyer protection and access to puppy training resources, though you may opt-out of these fees if preferred. I currently don't have any available puppies at this time. However, we will be pairing our Buttercup & Zuko for a litter due hopefully in November 2024. For more details and updates, please feel free to reach out to me via my email, cell, or good dog page. Thank you for considering one of my beloved corgis to be a part of your family.

I can't even say enough to describe the professionalism and the extra mile laura went to have our precious little corgi prepared and rready for us to pick up on our special day. The price is definitely right and extra details she gave us along the way makes it all worth it. Were glad she's a registered breeder & I myself have heard her kind voice to know she's not just good but great at what she does. All the necessary paperwork and vet visit prior to our arrival. Follow Laura & her loves ones on Instagram a& you'll see what we mean. We cant thank her enough.

As a former animal cruelty investigator i am very skeptical of breeders as i have arrested more than one back yard breeder/puppy miller during my career. I had no worries of this dealing with Emerald Corgis. I've been a firm advocate of supporting breeders who breed for quality bloodlines and for the love of the breed & you can tell that Laura is that kind of breeder. She has implemented certain health guarantees for the puppies, which is important and works hard to socialize them early on. In addition, she limits the number of litters she produces per year. The puppies appeared to come from a clean and well cared for environment and our puppy was very healthy, social, and cute as can be. He had more than one visit to the vet prior to coming to us in addition to vaccines and deworming. His microchip was included and a 1 year health guarantee. Emerald corgis will also take the puppy/ dog back if we cannot keep him. That is a sign of a responsible breeder!! The process was smooth and informative. which was appreciated since all our previous dogs were always rescue dogs. We love our Corgi, Thank you!

I love my puppy! Laura is very professional & easy to work with. Excellent breeder & fair prices. If you're looking for a breeder, this is the one. She is responsive, reliable, professional, & great values as well as quality.
